Manager – Whakamaru Transitional Housing

Wellington

Location: Mt Cook, Wellington
12-month fixed-term | Maternity Leave Cover | Full-time

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a committed team working alongside rangatahi and whānau, supporting them to build stability, strengthen connections and move towards long-term housing and wellbeing.

You'll provide clinical and practice leadership to our Registered Practitioners, Transitional Housing Support Workers and Kaihautū, ensuring residents receive high-quality, coordinated and person-centred support.

You'll bring:

  • A relevant qualification in social services, health or a related field, with current professional registration and a practising certificate.

  • Experience providing clinical or practice leadership, ideally within a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Experience working alongside rangatahi or people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, addiction, trauma or other complex circumstances.

  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, harm reduction and culturally responsive approaches.

  • Confidence navigating complex situations, assessing risk and supporting staff to make good decisions.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to bring people together around shared goals.

Most importantly, you'll believe in the potential of rangatahi, be comfortable working with complexity and understand the importance of relationships, trust and connection in creating lasting change.

This is a full time role 32hrs per week.

Ignite Sport is looking for two experienced youth workers

Wellington

Aranui Bike Fixup Youth Worker

Christchurch

9-10 hours a week (negotiable)

The Weekend Ride Coordinator Role (6 hours per fortnight)

Coordinating weekend bike rides with tamariki and rangatahi: Liaising with caregivers, route planning, organising adult volunteers and all other logistics.

Bike outings in December and January can be negotiated as required. Families in Aranui are often difficult to contact for parental consent, so a high degree of initiative is required to achieve this. Ideally the role could be shared between two people so each person does alternate weekends. Attending the Thursday workshops and teaching basic bike repair skills is also helpful for developing connections with youth.

Personal Skills and Attributes

• An openness to a Christian Church worldview

• Good communication and leadership skills with tamariki and rangatahi

• Enthusiasm for bike riding

• Knowledge of or be willing to learn bike mechanics

• Effective planning skills

• Be self-motivated and able to work independently

• Full driver's licence

• First aid certificate (negotiable)

• Police check completed

Hourly Rate: $30 per hour.
