Ignite Sport is looking for two experienced youth workers

Wellington

The ideal candidate will contribute to Ignite Sport’s success and growth and demonstrate the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:

  • A commitment to supporting and upholding Ignite Sport’s core faith values, beliefs, and practices.

  • A genuine passion for mentoring young people, including those from challenging backgrounds.

  • A strong interest in sport, recreation, and active lifestyles, supported by a good level of fitness.

  • An understanding of youth cultures and the ability to work effectively in bicultural and multicultural settings.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of people and groups.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently when needed.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage responsibilities effectively.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and email.

  • A commitment to ongoing training, professional development, and continuous learning.

  • A high level of punctuality, reliability, and professionalism.

  • A full, clean driver’s licence.

  • A qualification in youth work, sport and recreation, sports science, or a related field would be advantageous.
